The Tower of Militas

The main road from the proskynima leads to the Northwest side of the castle, the so called "tower of Militas". It derives from the Italian word militare which means army. The tower can be seen more clearly from the square outside the castle and nowadays it has become a residence. The reason it was named after this word is because it was reinforced by a military force since it is located facing the sea from where all raids were expected.

Cave of Olympoi

Approximately 10 km From Mesta Village, the Cave  of Olympoi is a phenomenal natural wonder that was discovered as recently as 1985. Guided tours began in 2002 and though the cave is relatively small, it is filled with beautyful structures formed by mineral deposits. With magnificent stalacties cascade from the ceiling- like folds of material while stalagmites emerge from the ground mimicking bubbling water frozen in mid-sprut. The tour goes to the depth of 30 m, though the cave extents to more than 50 m.

There  is a small cafeand gift shop above ground, open during the high season.
